The short version: Linkety-split doesn't collect anything about you. Your links and newsletters live in your own iCloud account. We have no server, no analytics, and no way to see what you save.
What we collect
Nothing. There's no account to sign up for, no analytics, no tracking, no advertising, and no third-party services reporting your activity back to anyone. We don't know who you are or that you use the app.
Where your data lives
Everything you create — links, categories, newsletters, issues, your writing — is stored on your device and synced through your own private iCloud account, so it shows up on your other devices. That sync happens between you and Apple. Swanky Shark runs no server and never receives a copy.
If you delete the app and turn off iCloud syncing for it, your data goes with it. We can't recover it for you, because we never had it.
The AI features
Linkety-split can draft link descriptions, suggest categories, and help write your opening and closing. All of that runs on your device using Apple Intelligence. Your writing is never sent to us, to OpenAI, or to any other AI service. Nothing you write is used to train anything.
The AI only ever runs when you tap a button to ask for it.
When you save a link
To show you a title, description, and preview image, the app visits the page you saved and reads what's published there. That's an ordinary web request, so the site you linked to sees a visit, the same as if you'd opened it in a browser. We aren't involved and don't see it.
Before saving a URL, the app strips common tracking parameters — the
utm_ tags and similar — so what's stored is the clean link.
Purchases
If you buy the multi-newsletter upgrade, Apple handles the whole transaction. We're told whether you own it, and nothing else. We never see your name, card number, or billing address.
Children
Linkety-split is a tool for writing newsletters and isn't aimed at children. Since we don't collect anything from anyone, we don't collect anything from children either.
Changes to this policy
If this ever changes, we'll update this page and change the date at the top. If a future version of the app ever did collect something, we'd say so here plainly and ask you first.
